Why YIRI exists
Radio is one of the last places where music is still discovered through people rather than algorithms. YIRI preserves those discoveries. Every record in the collection was heard in a real broadcast, at a real moment, played by someone who chose it.
A living musical collection
The collection spans almost a century of recorded music — records pressed between 1927 and today, recovered from underground radio stations around the world. 9,452 labels. 20,697 artists. Dozens of stations. Not because they were popular — because someone chose to play them.
What lives inside
32,643 records, and its character is the character of the floors and shows that surfaced them: mostly Techno, House and Experimental, pressed across every decade from the mid century to now, on labels from UK, US and Germany and dozens of other countries.

Why there are no recommendations
No feeds. No popularity. No algorithm deciding what comes next. Only movement through music — from a record, you go in a direction, and the next one is a consequence of where you chose to go.
A growing collection
The collection continues to grow as more broadcasts are recovered. Each addition changes the landscape a little — a new label, a scene that had not surfaced yet, a record nobody had heard played in years. The changelog records how it changes.
